Senior Second Opinion TeleHealth
The Senior Second Opinion TeleHealth Clinic represents a pioneering approach to healthcare, offering services primarily staffed by retired physicians. This unique telehealth initiative focuses on T2 diseases such as asthma, allergy, immunology, and food allergies, aiming to provide accessible, free or low-cost healthcare solutions. Services will be available directly to patients or through insurance and Medicare/Medicaid. By embedding referrals within Self-Directed Management (SDM) and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Tools, as well as informational sites managed by NHTI, the project exemplifies NHTI’s mission to leverage technology in bridging healthcare accessibility gaps, especially for underserved communities.

BIPOC Health Care Provider Directory
Addressing a critical need for cultural competence in healthcare, NHTI is developing a comprehensive BIPOC Health Care Provider Directory. This project aims to rate healthcare providers on their cultural competency and create a data-sharing API utility in partnership with the American Medical Association. By connecting the BIPOC community with culturally competent healthcare providers and offering the API tool to companies, NHTI tackles the vital issue of healthcare accessibility and quality for marginalized communities, reinforcing its dedication to inclusivity and technological innovation in health care. • Cultural competency rating: Introduces a novel approach to evaluating healthcare providers on their ability to serve the BIPOC community.

Online Informational Sites for Healthcare
NHTI is set to launch a series of patient-facing informational platforms dedicated to specific disease states. Each site will offer comprehensive Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), Shared Decision Making (SDM) Tools, and referrals to the Senior Second Option Service, ensuring patients have access to reliable and actionable health information. With an initial focus on T2 diseases including asthma, COPD, urticaria, and food allergies among others, these platforms are designed to empower patients with knowledge, combat misinformation, and facilitate informed healthcare decisions. Sponsored by industry leaders, this initiative underlines NHTI’s commitment to enhancing public health education through innovative technological solutions.

Project Launch
Project Launch introduces a shared services program exclusive to service providers vetted by NHTI, designed to support participants of the Innovation Program through public benefits, donation dollars, or paid services. This initiative not only offers new service providers a pool of work and potential customers but also reinforces NHTI’s mission by facilitating access to essential services for startups and entrepreneurs, thereby fostering a thriving ecosystem of innovation and collaboration.

Innovation Internships and Fellowships
The Innovation Internships & Fellowships program within the Business Development Program aims to provide an insightful and impactful experience for program participants. Through the Innovation Internship and Fellowship program, participants will gain real-world technical experience, learn best practices, and acquire valuable technical skills that are applicable for all businesses. The internship can run as long as 6 months, while the fellowship may extend up to a period of 2 years.
Innovation Internships and Fellowship Program participants will work with Altus Venture Studio’s active, operating start-ups. Start-ups will be in the range of HealthTech, EdTech, and FinTech, and more to come. By working and learning in a real-world environment, participants gain paid experience that can be applied to their current business, a placement into a current start-up, or and preparing the participant to launch their own start-up. Skills developed will focus on leadership, sales, marketing, customer service, product development, and start-up fundraising.
Key components of the Innovation Internships and Fellowships Program Include:
- Internship Opportunities: Offering hands-on experience in various areas such as technology, marketing, finance, and operations. Interns will work alongside industry professionals, gaining insights into industry standards and innovative practices.
- Fellowship Program: Providing advanced training and mentorship for individuals looking to deepen their expertise in specific areas. Fellows will engage in projects, research, and collaborative initiatives aimed at driving innovation and growth within a field, or multiple fields, of interest.
- Technical Skill Development: Offering workshops, seminars, and training sessions focused on enhancing technical skills relevant to modern business environments. Topics may include data analysis, digital marketing strategies, web software development, financial modeling, and more.
- World-Class Service Showcase: Exposing participants to exemplary service standards and customer-centric approaches through immersive experiences.
- Best Practices Learning: Introducing participants to industry best practices, tools, and methodologies through interactive sessions, case studies, and practical assignments. Participants will learn to implement efficient and effective strategies that drive success in their business endeavors.
- Networking and Collaboration: Facilitating networking opportunities with industry experts, mentors, and fellow participants to foster collaboration, idea sharing, and professional growth.
Community Mentoring
The Community Mentorship Program, a core component of NHTI’s Business Development Programs, connects participants with experienced mentors who provide guidance, support, and expertise. Participants learn the fundamentals of goal setting, developing SMART goals tailored to their business objectives, with mentors helping refine and align these goals. Certified mentors, selected based on expertise and industry experience, offer personalized one-on-one support, helping participants overcome unique business challenges. The mentorship program emphasizes skill development in areas such as leadership, marketing, financial planning, sales, and customer service, while also facilitating valuable networking opportunities. By connecting with industry experts and fellow entrepreneurs, participants expand their professional networks, leading to new business opportunities and collaborations.
Regular mentor meetings ensure accountability and motivation, with progress tracked and documented to foster continuous improvement. Mentors also provide emotional support, helping participants navigate the uncertainties of entrepreneurship. This personalized approach significantly enhances business performance, leading to increased revenue, improved efficiency, and sustainable growth. Additionally, mentorship relationships often extend beyond the program’s duration, offering long-term support and guidance. Overall, the program’s structured framework and diverse mentor pool ensure that participants receive the resources and networks they need for success, contributing to the growth and development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Optimizer Information Sessions
Our classes for the program are designed in an iterative process. Content is delivered twice weekly by Program Associates.
The optimizer focuses on cultivating a deep understanding of the customer, then focuses on building or improving products and services through the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) approach coupled with more advanced traditional and digital marketing to validate customer assumptions and to obtain customer feedback. All this to validate their business, and further refine their business strategies and assumptions.

The Start-up Accelerator Program
The Start-up Accelerator is a program designed to help early-stage companies grow rapidly by providing mentorship, resources, and funding. Lasting 6-months, accelerators offer intensive support in areas such as business development, marketing, product design, and fundraising. Start-ups accepted into accelerator programs receive guidance from experienced mentors and access to a network of investors and industry experts.
In exchange for participation, accelerators usually take a small equity stake in the company. Demo days, where start-ups pitch their products to potential investors, are common features of accelerator programs. Accelerators vary in focus, with some specializing in specific industries like technology, healthcare, or social entrepreneurship. Overall, accelerators play a crucial role in the start-up ecosystem by nurturing innovation, fostering collaboration, and helping young companies overcome challenges on their journey to success.
